THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE
BOZEMAN | July 14, 15 & 16
MISSOULA | August 5 & 6
written by Bertolt Brecht
created by the company
directed by Connor Berkompas
In the outbreak of war,
a mother abandons her child.
Grusha, a kitchen maid, rescues him
and embarks on a perilous journey.
Terrible is the temptation to be good...
Brecht’s intensely political and deeply human story exposes the destructive power of ownership, as well as the arbitrary nature of justice.
The Caucasian Chalk Circle asks, "How do we decide who is best fit to care for the lands we inhabit?"
Nervous Theatre redirects this question to our own community in a playful, bold, and thought-provoking new production.
