Nervous Theatre is a touring theatrical collective that aims to bring exciting and vital theatre to a wide variety of communities. Our nomadic theatre company will be taking up a residency this summer in beautiful Bozeman, Montana.

 

As part of our Summer Developmental Lab, company members will explore alternative performance practices and re-examine traditional audience/actor relationships for a "post-COVID" environment. The month-long residency will include the creation of an original theatrical work helmed by Artistic Director Connor Berkompas.

 

 

3-WEEK SUMMER INTENSIVE  |  July 20 - August 7

In partnership with The Ellen's TATE Academy, Nervous Theatre will be inviting a select number of students to participate in a 3-week intensive to coincide with our developmental lab. 

 

We are thrilled to offer select students the opportunity to work alongside professional company members and our acting interns, giving them a unique glimpse into Nervous Theatre's creative process. Students will participate in company warm-ups and engage in explorations of physical theatre.

This program is geared toward undergrad students and early post-graduates interested in exploring alternative theatrical practices.

INTENSIVE INCLUDES:

• Participation in Nervous Theatre warm-up sessions

• Explorations and workshops on:

  • Stage Movement

  • Viewpoints

  • Puppetry

  • Dance

  • Devised Theatre

  • Physical Improvisation

• Inclusion in select company rehearsals for the development of an original work

WHEN/WHERE:

• July 20 - August 7

• Monday through Friday, 6:00pm-9:00pm; Saturdays 12:00pm-5:00pm

• Classes and explorations will be held outdoors and at the Ellen Theatre*

 

Students who are not available for the entire three weeks are still encouraged to apply. Drop in classes may be accomodated. 

TUITION:

• Tuition for the 3-week Intensive is $300.

*NOTE ON COVID-19:

PLEASE NOTE: Nervous Theatre is accepting local Bozeman applicants only. We are unable to provide housing at this time.
